It started from a single whiteboard.

Dear Reader,

Thank you for being here.

My name is Jason, and I am the creator of SoccerMental. I built it because of one evening in my garage.

The World Cup had just ended, and my son's coach was telling me he was playing the best football of his life, that he was starting to understand the game. So I took out a whiteboard and drew the game for him. I kept telling him the same thing: players are not standing there for no reason. Every one of them has a purpose.

Then he took the pen out of my hand.

"You mean like this?"

And he drew his own lines. We played a whole game on that board, the two of us. I told him he had just given me a brilliant idea.

This is that idea.

Here is my honest reason. My son can sit and scroll for hours, watching videos that ask nothing of him. The phone does not bother me. The mindlessness does. Somewhere in those hours I felt I was letting him down. If something was challenging his mind, I would be content.

Nobody taught me, when I was young, how much the mind decides. My own life only improved when my decisions did. So I built the thing I wish someone had built for me, and I built it inside football.

My promise is simple. We will challenge your child's mind, for football and for everything after it. And I will never make this about taking money from you.

Rule one is in writing: have fun.
